The APE HACK SQUAT PRO is the pro hack squat machine in the APE range: the heavier of our two APE hack squats, offered in five frame colors. It suits home gyms, studios and training rooms that want a guided squat station and have the floor space and delivery route for a bulky plywood crate.

Key Features of the APE Hack Squat PRO

What sets the PRO apart from the standard model:

✅ Heavier build than the standard APE hack squat

✅ Frame colors to suit your room

Want the heavier APE hack squat? Add the HACK SQUAT PRO to your cart, or read the fit questions below first.

Is the PRO hack squat machine the right one for your room?

Both are hack squat machines, so the choice comes down to your room and your delivery route more than the movement. Measure the floor and the carry-in path first. If the PRO fits both, pick the frame color you like; if it does not, the APE HACK SQUAT is the lighter alternative.

Path angles, loading styles and footprints differ between brands, and our guide to choosing a hack squat machine walks through each.

How should you prepare the room for a heavy machine?

Stand the machine on a level, solid floor and tape out its footprint before delivery day, using the product size in the table below. Leave room around it to step on and off.

Rubber flooring under the footprint protects the surface beneath the frame while you train.

How the weight is added decides which extras you need. To ask how the APE HACK SQUAT PRO is loaded, call or text 423-458-2453 before you order.

What are the APE Hack Squat PRO specifications?

Specifications for the APE HACK SQUAT PRO:

AttributeValue
BrandAPE
Product size (three axes, unlabeled)46.9 x 65.0 x 57.1 in
Crate size84.6 x 43.3 x 47.2 in
WarrantyManufacturer's warranty

Converted from the supplier's metric figures.

The supplier lists the three size figures without naming length, width or height, so read them as outer limits, not a floor plan.

Is the PRO a match for your gym?

A good match if you:

  • Want the heavier of the two APE hack squats
  • Like choosing from five frame colors
  • Have room for a bulky crate and a heavy frame

Better to skip if you:

  • Want a lighter machine that is easier to move
  • Would rather push a platform from a seat
  • Have only a compact corner to spare

The PRO ships in a long, bulky crate, so plan the carry-in path and line up help before delivery day.

What happens between ordering and delivery?

Shipping is free on all APE equipment. Before delivery day, walk the route from your door to the training floor and measure each doorway and turn. APE imports ship in 45 to 60 days, so order well ahead of any opening date or training block.

For liftgates, delivery windows and what to expect from the truck, read our freight shipping guide.

You have 30 days from purchase to return the machine with a receipt or proof of purchase, provided it is working, undamaged, and in its original packaging; a damaged or incomplete return may be refunded only in part. A 25% restocking fee applies; you cover return shipping; equipment used beyond testing can't come back; and custom imported items are final sale with their warranty still in force. Cancelling before shipment costs 2.5%, as our shipping and returns policy explains.

The machine carries its manufacturer's warranty. If something isn't working after delivery, call us and we'll work with you to put it right under that warranty.

Questions About Hack Squat Machines

How heavy are hack squat machines?

Weight varies with frame size and build across our commercial squat machines, so compare each model's net weight instead of assuming. This machine's net weight is in the snapshot above, and the packed crate weighs more than the machine alone.

How do you do a hack squat on a machine?

On most hack squat machines, you stand on the platform with your back against the pad, set your feet and release any safety stops. Lower under control to a depth you can reach comfortably, then press back up. Start with a light load until the path feels natural.

What are the benefits of a hack squat machine?

It lets you train your quadriceps hard along a guided path, with a pad behind your back and little balance to manage. That makes it easy to add load in small steps. Results depend on your training, food and recovery.

Does a hack squat machine work your glutes?

Yes, as a helper. The quadriceps lead the movement, and the glutes and adductors assist, more so with a deeper squat and a higher foot position.

Can you do a hack squat without a machine?

Yes. A barbell held behind your legs gives a free-weight version, and a Smith machine with your feet slightly forward gives a guided one. Neither matches a dedicated machine's path, and our squat machine versus barbell guide weighs the two approaches.
