The APE Commercial Power Rack AP100 is a full-size power rack with a pull-up bar and a closely spaced hole pattern for setting bar and safety heights. It suits gyms, studios and serious home lifters who squat, press and pull heavy and want one freestanding frame for all of it.

Key Features of the AP100 Power Rack

✅ Pull-ups and squats share one frame
✅ Close hole steps for precise bar height
✅ Frame set up for squat, press and rack pulls

Who is a full power rack for?

Do I need a full power rack or a half rack? Choose the AP100 when you train heavy alone and want to set safeties on both sides of the bar. A half rack such as the AP200 is the other route, and it frames the lift differently.

Our guide to power racks, half racks and squat stands sets out which suits which room.

What do hole spacing and size change?

Hole spacing sets how finely you can adjust the bar, and hole size decides which pins and hooks fit. A smaller gap between holes gives more height positions, which helps when your squat and bench heights differ by a few inches. The AP100 pattern is finer than the one on the AP200 and AP300.

Set the bar and safeties in this order:

  1. Stand under the empty bar and pick the hole that puts it near mid-chest, so you unrack with a slight knee bend.
  2. Set the safeties a few holes below the lowest point of your squat.
  3. Match the hole number on both uprights before you load the bar.

How should you read the AP100 load figure?

Read it as the supplier's headline claim, not as a rating to plan to the pound. The wording ends in "or more" and does not say where on the frame the figure applies: hooks, safeties or pull-up bar. Keep bar and plates comfortably inside it. For what commercial buyers check beyond a load line, see our buyer's guide to commercial power racks and squat cages.

What room does the AP100 need?

The manufacturer lists the overall size as three figures without saying which is height, width or depth.

Confirm which of the three overall-size figures is the height before you compare it with your ceiling.

Can you put a power rack on carpet? Avoid it. Carpet compresses under load and lets the frame shift, so set the rack on a rigid, level base such as rubber flooring.

Is the AP100 the right rack for you?

A good match if you

  • Train heavy alone and want safeties on both sides
  • Want squats and pull-ups on one frame
  • Have checked floor and ceiling against the confirmed height

Better to skip if you

  • Need a tested, certified load rating on paper
  • Want a listed hardware kit and crate size before ordering
  • Have a room where a full frame crowds the walls

Add the AP100 to your cart once the room checks out.

Delivery, Returns, and Warranty

Shipping is free on all APE equipment. Before delivery day, clear a path from your door to the lifting area wide enough for the packed rack. Our freight shipping guide explains how LTL freight and liftgate delivery work.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase with a receipt or proof of purchase when the rack is working, undamaged, and in its original packaging; a damaged or incomplete return may be refunded only in part. Custom imported items are for final sale, though their warranty still applies. Otherwise, a 25% restocking fee applies; you pay return shipping; equipment used beyond testing can't come back; and cancelling before shipment costs 2.5%, as our shipping and returns policy explains.

The rack carries its manufacturer's warranty. If anything arrives damaged or fails, call us and we'll put it right under that warranty.

AP100 Power Rack FAQs

What are power racks used for?

Power racks hold a loaded bar at set heights so you can squat, press and pull heavy with safeties on both sides. Our guide to power rack exercises builds sessions around squats, overhead presses, rack pulls and pull-ups.

Can you deadlift in a power rack?

Yes, mostly as rack pulls: set the bar on pins at knee height or above and pull from there. A floor deadlift inside the frame works only if the layout leaves room for your stance.

Are power rack attachments universal?

No. An attachment fits only when its hole size, hole spacing and upright profile all match the rack, so check each one before you buy.

Is there a standard power rack hole spacing?

No. Spacing varies by maker, and some racks use tighter spacing near bench height, often called "Westside" spacing. Compare spacing and hole size together when you shop for accessories.

Are power racks worth it?

Yes, if you lift heavy alone or share one frame between lifters, because safeties let you miss a rep without a spotter. For light pressing in little floor space, a half rack may do.
