A commercial rower is built for many users a day and carries a warranty that names the facilities it covers. This category gathers air, air-magnetic and electromagnetic rowers for gyms, hotels, offices, teams and clinics, with guidance on matching each machine to your traffic, power supply and warranty needs.
Building out a whole cardio floor? Our commercial cardio equipment section groups treadmills, bikes and ellipticals with these rowers.

Which rowing machine is better? The one whose resistance, weight limit and power suit your room. Air rowers respond to effort for interval work, magnetic levels give repeatable settings for classes and new users, and a generator or battery console frees you from outlets.
Three rowers in this category show the spread.
| Spec | Concept2 RowErg | Spirit CRW800 | Hudson Steel REGATTA |
|---|---|---|---|
| Resistance | Air flywheel | Air and magnetic, 16 levels | Electromagnetic, 32 levels |
| Max user weight | 500 lb | 450 lb | 330 lb |
| Power | PM5 on two D batteries | Built-in generator | 9V/1A adapter |
| Storage | Separates into two parts | Folds | Vertical storage |
Choose the RowErg for heavier users and hard intervals, the CRW800 where no outlet is free, and the REGATTA for set-level rowing in a lighter-use room. The Concept2 RowErg comes with standard or tall legs, a choice that matters in senior and rehab settings.
For how noise and upkeep differ by resistance type, read our guide to air, magnetic and water rowers.
A commercial tag on a listing does not tell you which facilities the warranty covers, so read the terms first.
Spirit writes light-commercial terms for the CRW800 that cover non-dues-paying facilities, with no separate tier for clubs. Hudson Steel lists the REGATTA rowing machine for residential and light-commercial use at non-paying facilities, with coverage for up to five hours of use per day.
Body-Solid says its Endurance R300 suits home or commercial settings and backs the frame and welds for 15 years. STEPR describes the ROWER XL as a heavy commercial build and warranty, though our listing does not state the terms.
If your members pay dues, rule out any rower whose warranty covers non-paying facilities only.

Start from who rows and how many hours the machine runs each day.
Guest and resident rooms need a rower that runs anywhere and clears away. The Spirit CRW800 needs no plug, and it folds to 53 in long, 18 in wide and 71 in high, so a fold-away rower frees floor for other cardio between sessions.
Police, fire and military fitness rooms and athletic programs need rowers that take hard daily use. The STEPR ROWER XL uses what STEPR calls Adaptive VPR air resistance with a 100+ gear feel, and the APE Commercial Air Rower Pro combines air and magnetic resistance across 0-32 gears.
The Renegade Air Rower Mag pairs 16 magnetic levels with progressive air resistance and lists a 350 lb max user weight. For upper-body conditioning beside the rowers, add a machine from our ski erg lineup.
Seat height decides how easily older or recovering users get on and off. Concept2 sets the RowErg's seat 14 in from the floor on standard legs and 20 in on tall legs.
Rowing bends the knees and hips deeply, so confirm suitability with your clinical team. The Concept2 StrengthErg listed here offers seated row, leg press and chest press positions instead, while the OxeFit XS1 PEAK is a strength platform with a rowing simulation, not a rail rower.
Plan a row of rowers by length first. Concept2 lists the RowErg at 8 ft x 2 ft assembled and 9 ft x 4 ft with clearance for use.
Upkeep is light but regular. Our facility maintenance guide calls for wiping the seat rail and handle daily, inspecting the chain or belt weekly and oiling RowErg chains every 250 km or 50 hours of use.
Air rowers such as the Concept2 RowErg are the type built for that work. Concept2 says the RowErg is built to withstand rigorous use in gyms, boathouses and homes.
Wear parts do, long before the frame. Spirit covers CRW800 wear items for 6 months against 10 years on the frame, and Body-Solid covers R300 wear parts for 6 months.
Yes. A level, solid floor keeps the seat rolling evenly along the rail and stops the frame rocking under hard strokes.
Start with the Concept2 RowErg: Concept2 says both leg heights fit inseams up to 38 in and notes that taller users may need its extra-long monorail. Hudson Steel lists the REGATTA for users from 4'11" to 6'11".
