The Abs Company Total Glute: An Exercise Machine for Glutes That Trains All Three

The Abs Company Total Glute is an exercise machine for glutes that trains the gluteus maximus, medius and minimus on one frame. Standing abduction loads the medius upright, then the cable platform handles squats, deadlifts and lunges. It runs a 170 lb selectorized stack in a 67" x 41" footprint.

What the Total Glute Actually Trains

It covers the movement most glute machines skip: loaded hip abduction, performed standing. Your glute medius and minimus sit on the side of the hip and control pelvic stability. A seated abductor trains them sitting down. The Total Glute trains them upright, on your feet, with your core holding position — closer to how the muscle works when you walk, run or land.

Then you step onto the platform. The cable attachments turn the same 170 lb stack into squats, deadlifts and lunges, which is where the gluteus maximus does its work. One machine, both halves of the job.

Which gym machine is best for glutes? Most buying guides answer with hip thrust machines, leg presses and cable columns. All three train hip extension — and all three leave abduction untouched. That gap is exactly what this patent pending design closes, which is why it earns its place in a facility that already owns a leg press.

The elongated ergonomic handles matter more than they sound. They give you multiple hand positions during abduction, so you brace where it feels natural instead of fighting the machine for balance.

Who It Suits, Who It Doesn't

A strong fit for:

  • Gyms building a dedicated glute zone
  • Trainers coaching hip stability and abduction
  • Home gyms with a garage or basement slab
  • Lifters who want abduction without a floor band
  • Facilities needing zero setup between members

Not the right buy if:

  • You only want heavy hip thrusts
  • Your room is upstairs or above living space
  • Your budget sits under $3,000
  • You need it through a 30" interior door
  • You want a folding or storable unit

How It Compares in the Range

The Abs Company builds three glute stations, and they solve different problems.

If your priority is heavy, comfortable hip thrusting, the selectorized Glute Lift Elite is the more direct answer. If you want one station that covers abduction plus loaded standing patterns, this is the one. Does a glute machine work better than squats? Neither replaces the other — squats load hip extension heavily, abduction work builds the side-hip strength squats barely touch. The Total Glute happens to give you both.

Space, Delivery and Setup

Plan for freight, not a doorstep drop. The crate ships at 64"L x 32"W x 27"H and 730 lb, so you need a delivery point a truck can reach and at least two people to move it.

Will it fit through a standard doorway? At 32" wide, the crate sits exactly at the width of a 32" interior door with no clearance, and it will not pass a 30" door. Measure your narrowest opening before you order. A ground-floor room with a concrete or reinforced floor is the sensible home for 619 lb of assembled machine.

Warranty, freight scheduling and return terms are confirmed by Hamilton Home Fitness at the time of order.

Total Glute FAQs

What height range does the Total Glute fit?
The Abs Company specifies a range of 5'0" to 6'7". The design is adjustment-free, so different users step on and train without changing a seat or pad — useful when a machine sees back-to-back use.

How much weight can it hold?
The built-in stack is 170 lb, and the selectorized training range runs up to 200 lb (91 kg). That covers beginners through advanced lifters on abduction work.

Is this suitable for a home gym?
Yes, if the space supports it. It is listed under Commercial Workout Machines, so treat it as commercial equipment: ground floor, solid slab, 67" x 41" of dedicated footprint.

Does it replace a seated abductor machine?
For most programs, yes. It performs abduction standing rather than seated, which keeps the core loaded and removes the reason people climb onto seated abductors to mimic a standing position.

Can beginners use it safely?
The machine is built for users of all abilities, with handle support through the abduction motion. If you are returning from injury or managing a hip condition, check with a qualified professional before loading it.
