Horizon Fitness Equipment for Home Cardio Training

Horizon Fitness equipment is a line of residential cardio machines—treadmills, ellipticals, rowers, and exercise bikes—built by Johnson Health Tech since 1998. Hamilton Home Fitness stocks nine Horizon models from $549 to $1,999, all designed for in-home use with lifetime frame and motor coverage.

Most people buying a home treadmill are not chasing a personal record. They are trying to keep a promise to themselves through a February that never seems to end or carve out twenty minutes that belong to nobody else. Horizon built its catalog around that reality — machines that hold up on an ordinary Tuesday, not machines that photograph well in a showroom.

That focus shows in what Horizon leaves out. No locked console. No mandatory subscription. No content ecosystem you keep paying for after the delivery truck leaves. You connect the phone or tablet you already own, open the app you already use, and start.

The Nine Models We Stock

Our Horizon range covers four treadmills, two rowers, two exercise bikes, and one elliptical. Every unit carries a Residential Only tag, and every one pairs with training apps over Bluetooth.

Built for Homes, Not Health Clubs

Horizon's warranty covers in-home use only. That one line in the manufacturer's policy decides who should buy this equipment and who should walk past it.

Furnishing a garage gym, a spare bedroom, a basement corner, or an apartment? Horizon sits squarely in scope, and the value at these prices is hard to argue with. Outfitting a commercial floor—a health club, hotel gym, studio, or clinic with member traffic—is a different problem entirely. Putting residential machines on that floor means running them outside the coverage Horizon offers.

Most retailers will not say this out loud. We would rather you hear it before the order than after a failure.

Can Horizon treadmills be used in a gym? Physically, yes. Under warranty, no. Horizon states its equipment is intended for in-home use. Facilities should start with our commercial fitness equipment, where frames, motors, and warranty terms are rated for multi-user traffic.

How to Choose Your Horizon Machine

Start with the movement you will actually repeat three times a week, then size the deck or seat to your body. Everything else is secondary.

Deck Size and Stride Length

Deck dimensions decide comfort, and this is the spec buyers most often get wrong. The Horizon T101 Treadmill gives you a 20" x 55" deck, which handles walking and steady jogging in a smaller room. The 7.4 AT widens to 22", and the Horizon 7.8 AT Treadmill runs a full 22" x "60"—room a taller runner needs to stop shortening their stride just to stay on the belt.

Height is the quick test. Runners over roughly 6 feet, or anyone doing regular speed work, tend to feel boxed in on a 55" deck. If the machine is mainly for walking and incline work, that extra length is money better spent elsewhere.

Low-Impact and Seated Options

Joints that object to running have three good paths here. The 7.0 AE Elliptical works the whole body without impact using a Six-Star frame and power incline, in a 76" x 24" x 65.5" fsix-star at 194 lbs. The incline ind Oxford 6 rowers spread load across legs, back and arms, then tilt upright when you finish. For continuous back support, the 5.0R Recumbent Bike pairs a full lumbar seatback with a built-in fan.

None of this replaces clinical attendance. Training back from an injury or a recent procedure? Get your clinician's direction on intensity first, then match the tool to their advice using our rehab equipment range.

The Free @Zone App Explained

@Zone is Horizon's companion app, and it costs nothing — no subscription, no per-class fee, no premium tier holding the good workouts hostage.

It connects over Bluetooth FTMS, syncs session data to Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit, and Strava, and includes Sprint 8 interval training plus Virtual Active scenic courses. One caveat matters: @Zone pairs with select Horizon cardio equipment and is not backwards compatible. Replacing an aging Horizon unit means the app works with the new machine, not the old one.

Do Horizon machines work with Peloton? Yes. Open Bluetooth on the AT-series treadmills runs Peloton, Zwift, and similar apps from your own device. The 7.0 AT adds Apple Watch tap-to-connect. Horizon treadmills are not iFit-enabled, so rule that ecosystem out before you buy.

Is the @Zone app really free? Yes. The download and core workouts carry no subscription. Third-party services like Peloton or Zwift bill separately.

Warranty and Service Coverage

Every Horizon treadmill ships with a lifetime frame and motor warranty, plus parts and labor coverage that varies by model — one year on the T101, longer on several AT-series machines.

Here is the detail almost nobody reads until they need it: if you live more than 150 miles from a Horizon-authorized service provider, Horizon covers the technician's mileage up to 150 miles, and the balance falls to you. Worth measuring that distance before you order if you are rural.

Who makes Horizon Fitness equipment? Johnson Health Tech, which launched Horizon in 1998 and also builds Matrix and Vision. That parent-company scale is the reason a home-priced treadmill carries a lifetime motor warranty at all.

Horizon Fitness Equipment FAQ

How much does Horizon Fitness equipment cost here?
Our current Horizon range runs from $549 for the 5.0U upright bike to $1,999 for the 7.8 AT treadmill. Treadmills sit between $699 and $1,999, rowers between $899 and $1,099, and the 7.0 AE Elliptical at $999.

What does the private invoice label mean on this brand?
Horizon is listed as a private invoice brand, which means you can order online at the listed price or request a direct quote covering delivery to your address. Call 423-458-2453 or email HAMILTONHOMEFITNESS@GMAIL.COM for the quote route.

Which Horizon machine fits a small room?
The 5.0U Upright Bike is the smallest at 66" x 25.2" x 52.2" and 123 lbs. The T101 folds hydraulically to 46" x 34" x 61", which makes it the most practical treadmill for a shared or multipurpose space.

Is Horizon equipment suitable for low-impact training?
The 7.0 AE Elliptical, both Oxford rowers, and the 5.0R Recumbent Bike all reduce joint loading compared with running. Suitability depends on your individual condition, so speak with your physician or physical therapist before starting a new program.

Do Horizon treadmills work with iFit?
No. Horizon treadmills are not iFit-enabled. They use open Bluetooth FTMS instead, which connects to Peloton, Zwift, Strava, and the free @Zone app without locking you into one provider.

How is Horizon equipment delivered?
Orders ship nationwide from our Tennessee base. Delivery options and timelines vary by model and destination — review our shipping and returns policy or request a quote to the door for a firm figure before you commit.

What is the difference between the 7.4 AT and 7.8 AT?
Both use 22"-wide decks and QuickDial controls. The 7.8 AT extends to a full 22" x 60" running surface with integrated media controls, and Horizon positions it for high-intensity training and households where several people share the machine.
