In June 2025, Johnson Health Tech Trading recalled the 552 and 1090 adjustable dumbbells with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Roughly 3.8 million units sold between 2004 and May 2025 are covered. The hazard: weight plates can dislodge from the handle during use. CPSC logged around 350 reports and 111 injuries.
