Court Space You Actually Need

Official 2-on-2 play under FIVB, USA Volleyball, and NCAA rules uses a 16 m by 8 m court—52 ft 6 in by 26 ft 3 in. Around that, plan a free zone of at least 3 m for recreational play and 5 to 6 m for sanctioned competition. Posts stand outside the sidelines, never on them.
Sand depth matters as much as footprint. Twelve inches is the working minimum, and 16 in. is preferred for competition.
