The APE Commercial Double Half Rack AP300 puts two half-rack stations on one frame, so two lifters can train at the same time. It suits commercial gyms, studios and training groups that want extra squat and press capacity without buying two separate racks.

Key Features of the AP300 Double Half Rack

✅ One freight delivery for both stations
✅ Wide hole steps for quick changeovers

What is a double half rack?

What is a double half rack? It is two half-rack stations joined on one frame, so two people lift side by side instead of taking turns. Shops also call it a double sided half rack, and the AP300 is APE's version.

Scenario: a small gym wants a second squat station and has floor for one large frame, not two. The AP300 answers that. A single lifter is better served by the AP200 half rack.

How do two lifters share the AP300?

Plan the floor before the frame arrives, so both stations stay usable at once:

  1. Mark the frame's outline on the floor with tape.
  2. Leave room at each station to load plates and walk the bar out.
  3. Keep a clear lane between the stations and the nearest wall, bench or machine.

Our commercial gym layout guide shows how to place racks against traffic flow and neighboring equipment.

Does the load figure cover both stations?

The supplier states one load figure for the AP300. The listing does not say whether that figure applies to each station or to the whole frame. Until that is settled, plan each lifter's bar and plates well inside it.

The supplier also describes extensive compatibility for add-on attachments, precision and a heavy-duty build. Those are the supplier's own words and not tested ratings.

Will the AP300 fit under your ceiling?

The manufacturer lists the overall size as three figures with no axis labels, so the height is not stated outright.

The largest of the three overall-size figures is taller than the 96 in of a nominal 8 ft ceiling, so confirm which figure is height before you order.

Who should buy the AP300?

A good match if you

  • Run two lifters at once in the same room
  • Want pull-ups on the same frame
  • Have a ceiling and floor measured for the largest figure

Better to skip if you

  • Train alone and need one station only
  • Have a low ceiling or a tight door run
  • Want a published tested rating for each station

Delivery, Returns, and Warranty

Shipping is free on all APE equipment. A frame this large ships by freight, so before delivery day, walk the route from your door to the lifting area and clear it for the packed rack. Our commercial power racks and cages range shows other frame formats if the AP300 is more than you need.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase with a receipt or proof of purchase when the rack is working, undamaged, and in its original packaging; a damaged or incomplete return may be refunded only in part. Custom imported items are for final sale, though their warranty still applies. Otherwise, a 25% restocking fee applies; you pay return shipping; equipment used beyond testing can't come back; and cancelling before shipment costs 2.5%, as our shipping and returns policy explains.

The rack carries its manufacturer's warranty. If anything arrives damaged or fails, call us and we'll put it right under that warranty.

Double Half Rack Questions

Is a double half rack the same as a double sided half rack?

Yes. Sellers use both names, and "dual half rack" for the same format: two half-rack stations on one frame. The label names the layout, not the quality.

Can two people bench press on a double half rack at once?

Yes, if each station has its own bench and the layout leaves each lifter room. Set safeties at both stations before loading. The listing does not name which safeties ship with the rack.

What can two lifters do on a double half rack at once?

Anything a single half rack allows: squats, presses, bench work with a bench, and pull-ups. The two lifters can run different lifts at the same time, which suits circuit-style sessions in a small group.

Does a double half rack need to be bolted down?

It depends on the rack, the load and the floor. The AP300 listing publishes no anchoring instructions, so at minimum set the frame on a flat, rigid floor, and take extra care with a large frame that two lifters load at once.

What size are power rack holes?

Sizes vary by maker. Match any pin, hook or attachment to the rack's hole size before you buy, because a loose fit puts load on the wrong part.
