Body Solid Series 7 Smith Machine Gym Package (GS348BP4)

The Body Solid Series 7 Smith Machine gym package (GS348BP4) is a commercial-rated, total-body system built on a precise 7-degree Smith. It pairs a 600 lb-capacity Smith bar with a 1000 lb free-weight gun rack, a 210 lb cable stack, a pec station, and an adjustable bench—so you train heavy without a spotter.

That last part is the whole point. Most home lifters stall not because they lack discipline, but because there is nobody standing behind the bench at 6 a.m. This gym removes that ceiling.

What You Get in the Package

The GS348BP4 is a complete gym system, not a machine with accessories bolted on afterward.

Four body-solid units ship together as one package:

  • GS348B Series 7 Smith Machine—the 7-degree angled core of the system
  • GLA348BS lat attachment—high-and-low pulley with a 210 lb weight stack
  • GPA3B pec station—chest work driven by that same stack
  • GFID71B adjustable bench—supplied with the GLDA3 leg developer and GPCA1 preacher curl station

Together they cover pressing, pulling, squatting, rowing, curling, and leg work in one footprint. The product listing classifies it as commercial for application, total body for exercise focus, and Smith Machine by type—and the full Product Data Sheet is available for download on this page if you want the manufacturer's own numbers before you commit.

How the 7° Smith System Works

The 7-degree reverse pitch exists for one reason: your body does not press in a perfectly vertical line.

A straight vertical Smith forces your shoulders and hips into a bar path they did not choose. Body-Solid set the Series 7 to a precise 7-degree angle so upper- and lower-body movements travel naturally, which matters most on incline press and squat patterns where a vertical track feels wrong within the first rep.

Smith Bar and Lock-Out Points

The linear ball-bearing Smith system gives you 20 cross-member lock-out points, so the bar stops solid at any point in the movement.

The large-diameter Smith bar weighs only 25 lbs and handles up to 600 lbs of plate. How much does the Smith bar weigh? Twenty-five pounds—light enough that a beginner can start with the bar alone, rated high enough that an advanced lifter never outgrows it. That range is why the listing calls it ideal for amateurs and professionals alike.

Free-Weight Gunrack and Safeties

The GS348B is also a genuine free-weight station, which is what separates it from a plain Smith machine.

The free-weight gun rack system offers 14 lift-off and racking positions, 17-inch safety spotter arms, and a robust 1000 lb capacity. Can you use free weights on a Smith machine? On this one, yes—you get a best-of-both-worlds power station, and the package includes incredibly strong adjustable safeties for both the Smith system and the free-weight barbell workout center.

Do you need a spotter with a Smith machine? No. Between 20 lock-out points and adjustable safeties on both systems, a failed rep has somewhere to land.

Cable Stack, Pec Deck, and Bench

One 210 lb stack drives both the pulley and pec stations, with no cable changes between them.

The GLA348BS lat attachment gives you a no-cable-change high and low pulley on that 210 lb stack — lat pulldowns to seated rows without leaving the station. It ships with a lat bar, a low row bar, and an adjustable foot brace. The top plate carries weight horns, so you can add free-weight plates for extra load or finer jumps between sets.

The GPA3B pec-attachment works from the same 210 lb stack, letting you isolate the chest at your own pace.

The GFID71B bench brings independently adjustable seat and back pads, plus a leg hold-down for crunches and lat pulldowns. Two attachments come with it: the GLDA3 leg developer for extensions and curls and the GPCA1 preacher curl station.

Frame, Stability, and Storage

Heavy-duty all-4-side welded 11 gauge and 12 gauge 2"x3" mainframe steel construction, on a safe, solid 4-point stance for maximum stability.

That gauge and stance combination is what keeps the frame from shifting when you load it hard. Is the Body-Solid Series 7 commercial rated? Yes—it is commercial-rated and, per Body-Solid, carries the In-Home Lifetime Warranty.

Storage is built in rather than an afterthought:

  • Six Olympic weight-plate storage posts safely suspend plates off the floor for easy access
  • An Olympic bar holder mounted to the frame stores your barbell without obstructing any exercise movement

Small details, but they decide whether your gym stays usable or turns into an obstacle course.

Ready to build around it? Browse the full Body-Solid range or add to cart above.

Series 7 Smith Machine or Full Gym?

Buy the package when you want a complete gym; buy the machine alone when you already own a bench and cables.

Who This Gym Fits Best

This is a fit for lifters who train alone and refuse to cap their loading because of it.

It suits home gym owners with a dedicated room or garage bay, personal trainers running clients through full-body circuits, and small studios or facilities that need commercial-rated equipment without a commercial floor plan—the listing describes it as perfect for homes and smaller facilities.

Two honest limits. This is a substantial machine, so measure your ceiling height and floor space against the Product Data Sheet before ordering. And is a Smith machine good for building muscle? For hypertrophy, absolutely—the fixed path lets you push closer to failure safely. Free-barbell specialists chasing maximal stabilizer recruitment will lean on the gunrack side of this frame more than the Smith side, which is exactly why both are here.

Warranty, Shipping, and Returns

You buy this from an authorized Body-Solid dealer, which keeps the manufacturer's warranty intact.

The listing carries both the Body-Solid Commercial Warranty and the Body-Solid Lifetime Warranty, and Body-Solid states the gym comes with its In-Home Lifetime Warranty as a commercial-rated item. Grey-market sellers frequently break that coverage. Hamilton Home Fitness operates from Tennessee and ships to all 50 states, with returns running 30 days from purchase on undamaged equipment in original packaging — restocking and return shipping charges can apply on freight items.

Series 7 Smith Gym Questions

Are Olympic plates and barbells included?

No. The package covers the Smith machine, lat attachment, pec station, bench, leg developer, and preacher curl station listed above. The 210 lb selectorized stack is included, but Olympic plates for the Smith bar and gunrack are purchased separately. Browse Olympic plates and bars to complete the setup.

Can I add more than 210 lb to the cable stack?

Yes. The GLA348BS lat attachment includes a top plate fitted with weight horns, so you can add free-weight plates for heavier pulls or smaller increments between working sets. That keeps progression smooth once the base stack stops challenging you.

Will this fit a standard garage or basement?

Check the Product Data Sheet on this page against your working ceiling height and floor space before ordering. Measure the floor to the ceiling first, then subtract your flooring thickness—rubber tiles and platforms take an inch or two. Leave clearance around the frame for loading plates.

Can two people train on it at once?

Partly. The PEC station and the high/low pulley share the same 210 lb stack, so those two cannot run simultaneously. The Smith system and free-weight gun rack operate independently, so one lifter can press while another works cables.

What warranty comes with the GS348BP4?

The product listing shows both the Body-Solid Commercial Warranty and the Body-Solid Lifetime Warranty, and the gym is a commercial-rated item. Buying through an authorized dealer preserves that coverage. Warranty terms come from Body-Solid directly — review the current policy documents before purchase

.

How does the Series 7 ship, and can I return it?

Equipment of this size ships freight. Returns run 30 days from purchase, and the gym must be undamaged and back in its original packaging for inspection; restocking and return shipping charges can apply. Confirm the current shipping and returns terms before ordering.
